Meet Jaquilla Ross

Jaquilla Ross is naive of Milwaukee, WI. In May 2007, she graduated from Rufus King International High School. In May 2011, she graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Accounting and in May 2013, she received her Masters of Professional Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Jaquilla has over six years in accounting experience including two years as an accountant for Johnson Controls, three years as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche LLP, and currently nearly one year at Rockwell Automation.

 On May 12th, 2016 while working at Deloitte, Jaquilla was called into what turned out to be her last meeting with the firm. She was notified the firm was downsizing and her services were no longer needed. Determined to figure out her next move, Jaquilla started her own accounting business, Ross Financial, LLC in July 2016. She also decided she would transition into an academic career. In January 2017, she began teaching accounting part time at Alverno College, She is currently employed full time at UW-Whitewater and part time at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and Cardinal Stritch University as an accounting instructor.

Now as a business owner and instructor, Jaquilla believes she is fulfilling her purpose in life. Not only does she educate future accountants, but she educates her community on how to manage their finances and live debt free.

Jaquilla is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and gives back to her community regularly. She also serves as a trustee on the Board of Trustee for Greater Mount Sinai C.O.G.I.C. and she is the Assistant Controller of GMS.

Jaquilla says, “The biggest satisfaction in my life is seeing the smile on someone’s face when I can help and be a blessing upon to them. There’s no doubt in my mind that God has placed me on Earth to be a blessing to His people.”
